Truck: 1991 BMY Harsco m931A2, (Titled as a 1989). We chose the M931A2 Military Tractor as the platform for the build, due to it’s short frame, and ease of adding a 10 foot box, to essentially turn it into an M928 ‘Shorty’ Cargo Truck.

Now for the Fun Part…. Below is a list and Description of All additional Upgrades that were Performed as Part of the Build
- Custom trailer Hitch Both 2″ Class 5 Receiver, and Original Pintle Hitch. This is One Seriously Bad Ass Hitch, that can pretty much Tow Anything.
- Trailer Hitch Plug for Trailer Lighting, and 12 volt controller. The controller is a Step Down Box, mounted under the trucks bed, that steps the current down from 24 volts to 12. This 12 volt controller, is also used as the main power source other 12 volt accessories which were added on.
- Three Commercial Grade 12 volt power outlets mounted in the cab.
- BACK UP LIGHTS: (Truck Never came with them)
- KEYED DOOR LOCKS: (Truck was originally Built without door locks)
- KEY IGNITION: (Truck originally came with a Starter Switch, rather than a key)
- One Air Hose outlet on each side of the Truck
- Tan Interior Floor Liner
- AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM: which includes, New Compressor, Pump, Belts, Plumbing, Wiring, and Ducted with Cabin Vent Controls. This was a Massive Upgrade to the Truck. If you plan on going into Desert Areas, or where it gets Hot, you’ll be glad to have this A/C unit installed. Cost of this upgrade alone: $3,200.
- BRAND NEW PAINT JOB: This is one of my personal Favorites of the Mods. The Restoration Folks in Southern California, Completely Repainted the truck to my specifications. This included the The Bed, Cab, Frame, Suspension… Everything. They did an Excellent Job, and the Truck Literally Looks BRAND NEW!! These pictures were taken in California at the Shop where it was Restored.
- CUSTOM COATED RUBBERIZED BLACK BED LINER
- HARD TOP. Many of these Trucks came with Vinyl Tops. I opted to have a Factory Hard Top Installed. It’s a Great addition for keeping in warmth in winter, and cold during the summer. It also keeps out rain, as the vinyl tops were prone to leakage.
- TITLE: Because this is a Military Truck, it originally came from the factory Without a Title. The Process and Paperwork involved with obtaining one can be Lengthy and very Tedious. Especially if your not sure how to go about it. This has Already been done for you, and the Truck is licensed in WA state.
As you can see, So much has been done to this Truck. You simply don’t need to do anything else.
